🐾❤️🐾 Bulldog Brag sent in by a parent🐾❤️🐾

“Bulldog Brag! Both of my kids have always looked up to and loved Officer Fisher. My daughter praised him when she was at Paul Belton, and he would do the crosswalk and "keep her safe from the cars coming to school". My son said yesterday that he "wants to be a Police Officer at a school just like Officer Fisher." I am so happy that our children have such a great role model in their presence every day!!!”

Thank you Officer Crafton for everything you do. We appreciate you!

🐾❤️🐾 Staff Feature Friday – Borger Intermediate School

We know that a school is only as strong as the people who pour their hearts into it every day. This week, we are shining a bright light on two incredible individuals who keep Borger Intermediate School safe, organized, and running smoothly!

Officer Matthew Crafton | School Resource Officer
Officer Crafton is much more than a uniform; he is a cornerstone of our school culture. Whether he’s jumping in to help with the lunchroom rush, mentoring a student who needs an extra boost, or going above and beyond to ensure our halls are positive and safe, his dedication is unmatched. We are so grateful for his heart, his humor, and his unwavering commitment to our kids!

Misty Hawley Stanford | MTSS Specialist and Testing Coordinator
Mrs. Stanford plays an important role as MTSS teacher (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) at BIS and does an amazing job helping our students learn to be better readers. She also has another important role. As the "Queen of Coordination," Misty works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure every assessment is run strictly according to state law and with absolute precision. Recently, Misty has truly stepped up by taking on the massive responsibility of District Testing, ensuring that the entire process runs smoothly for every campus. Her attention to detail and leadership are what keep us on the path to success!

Thank you both for everything you do for our students, our staff, and the entire Borger community. We are lucky to have you on the team!

As part of our continued commitment to transparency and community trust, we are releasing body-worn camera (BWC) footage from an arrest that occurred on Wednesday, February 25th, at 1650 W. Wilson. Officers were dispatched to a reported vehicle crash in the parking lot. Once on scene, the responding officer determined that the extent of damage required a formal report and began conducting an investigation. During that process, the driver failed to cooperate, which ultimately resulted in an arrest.

Following the incident, concerns were raised regarding the level of force used during the encounter.

We take all allegations of misconduct seriously; as such, an internal review was conducted immediately. During the review, it was confirmed that the officer acted within policy and procedure.

We provide this footage so our community can review the interaction in question.

Congratulations are in order!🥳

Lieutenant Rogelio “Roy” Guzman of the Borger Police Department recently graduated from the Leadership Command College – Class 103 of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas. The program, taught by a consortium of universities throughout Texas, provides law enforcement administrators and executives with the skills necessary to effectively manage police agencies and deliver a high level of service to their communities.

Module I, focusing on leadership, is taught at the Center for Executive Development at Texas A&M University. Module II at Texas Woman’s University focuses on the political, legal, and social environment of law enforcement. The program concluded on February 20, 2026, with training in law enforcement administration at the third module, held at Sam Houston State University.

Each of the three 3-week modules attended by participants in the program is taught by top national and international law enforcement experts. Topics include leadership, professional ethics and integrity, communication, and personnel management issues. The Command College curriculum also strives to keep participants on top of contemporary issues in Criminal Justice.

This program is one of many offered by the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas, headquartered on the campus of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. The Institute, known as “LEMIT,” has been training law enforcement managers and executives since its inception in 1987. LEMIT offers numerous seminars, training for police chiefs, and the leadership program, which is one of the premier law enforcement academies in the nation. No tax monies are necessary to support LEMIT, which is funded by a surcharge on criminal court costs, affording eligible Texas Law Enforcement managers and executives essential professional development. Between one and two thousand Texas law enforcement personnel benefit from LEMIT training each year.

Congratulations, Lt. Guzman! 👏
