Class 36 - Week2

Hazmat Operations week!

Take aways from this week are as follows:

- it’s all about the “D’s” dam, d**e, divert, decon
- I should have paid attention to chemistry in high school
- the only thing worse than PT is being fully encapsulated in level A suit during the summer in Louisiana

This class is moving fast! It might have been a short week, but we covered a lot of material!

Class 36 – Week 1

Today, the newest recruits of the Bossier City Fire Department completed their first week of rookie school. These recruits hit the ground running… literally! In Bossier, we hold a high standard and expect nothing but the best from our firefighters.

This class started on Monday, and we are proud to say that every recruit successfully passed their Hazmat Awareness certification on the first attempt.

This week has been about more than just certifications and physical training. We have emphasized the importance of discipline, accountability, and teamwork. These recruits are quickly learning that success in the fire service is not achieved individually, but through working together with a common purpose. Without discipline and teamwork, failure is inevitable.

A strong start for Class 36, and we’re excited to watch them continue to grow throughout their training.

Congratulations!

Congratulations!

Your Bossier City Fire Department Fire Prevention Officers are proud to have successfully passed the newly required International Code Council certifications for Commercial Building Inspector and Building Plans Examiner. A lot of time and effort was put towards achieving these certifications. This will ensure that we continue to provide the highest level of service to the citizens of Bossier City.

Today, the recruits took one more “step” toward graduation. This morning, they completed their final PT event—the Unity Run.

This run represents more than just physical endurance. It’s a reminder that throughout this career, we will face challenges and adversity. But together, as a team, we can overcome anything.

We are incredibly proud of how far this class has come, and we look forward to celebrating their hard work and dedication as they graduate tomorrow.
