Hurricane season peaks between mid-August and mid-October, and in Bossier Parish that usually means wind, water, and a power outage that lasts longer than anyone planned for.

Getting ready doesn't have to be complicated. A few steps taken ahead of time make the difference, especially if you live alone or manage a condition that needs refrigerated medication.

🔹Keep a printed medication list with names, doses, and your pharmacy, plus a 3-7 day supply if your doctor agrees
🔹Write down a local contact, someone out-of-area, and a nearby neighbor, then stick that note on the fridge
🔹Stock flashlights and batteries rather than candles, along with bottled water and shelf-stable food
🔹Pick the safest spot in your house now, a lowest-level interior room away from windows, and practice going there once

If a storm disrupts your shopping, cooking, or driving, call us early. Depending on eligibility and availability, we may be able to help with meals, essential errands, and check-ins.
