This is how Father Alexander Albert, pastor over St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Abbeville, started us in prayer yesterday morning as we gathered for the incredible announcement that SpaceX will be building Starbase Louisiana in Vermillion parish.
How fitting to honor the Creator of the universe who gave us the cosmos as a symbol of His grandeur, and His son as the embodiment of His love, as we celebrate this milestone for our state.
Yesterday’s announcement included figures such as a $100B investment; 125,000 acres - largely to insulate launch activities, and the biggest launch site on earth; 3,000-10,000 employees; 195% of the prevailing area wage; construction to begin in 2027; launches in 2029.
