A 1989 Ford 1250 pump and 1000 gal tank, top of the line truck for its time, 1510 served as a first out engine from 1989 to late 1999 early 2000s and 2000 to 2025 a second out pumper/tanker to mutual aid, 1510 served the fire district of Bostic and Rutherford County well and will be missed, the truck was donated to stumpy point fire department, 1510 was replaced with aspartan pumper/tanker. Comment if you have a memory of old 1510

Here's a good news story. Bostic Vol. Fire Dept. in Rutherford County has donated a 1988 Grumman Firecat to Stumpy Point VFD in Dare County. Bostic 1510 served as their second-out pumper for 25 years.

Shown on February 7, 2026, the keys were handed off from Bostic Fire Chief Michael Harton (left) and Bostic Mayor Mitch Harrell (middle) to Stumpy Point Board President Phil York (right).

The truck arrived at its new home on Monday. It will again serve as a second-out pumper, as Stumpy Point 1902.
