🌟 Future Focused Friday 🌟

A strong future starts with making sure our students are nourished, supported, and ready to learn. This summer, we’re proud to continue supporting families through our program!

🍎 Anyone 18 and under can receive a FREE weekly take-home meal bundle for breakfast and lunch this summer.

📅 The first meal pickup will be Wednesday, June 3
⏰ 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
📍 Pickup at the site selected during preregistration

This season, the East Rutherford Cavaliers showed what can happen when talent, hard work, perseverance, and belief come together.

Now, they stand as the 2026 3A Western Regional Champions and are competing for a State Championship.

Their journey is more than a baseball story, it’s a testimony.

Why RCS? 🎓

Because graduation is never just about a diploma.

It’s about the teachers who stayed after class.
The coaches who pushed students to grow.
The friendships built in classrooms, on fields, on stages, and in hallways.
The moments of challenge, growth, faith, laughter, and accomplishment that shaped the journey along the way.

Now that graduation season has come to a close, we’re celebrating not only what our students achieved — but who they’ve become.

🎓✨ Future Focused Friday ✨🎓

As we continue celebrating our seniors and the bright futures ahead of them, last night we had the honor of celebrating the Chase High School Class of 2026 at their graduation ceremony!

Today, we look forward to celebrating the graduates of R-S Central High School, and tomorrow we will cheer on the seniors of East Rutherford High School as they walk across the stage and into their next chapter.

At RCS, being Future Focused means supporting our students as they prepare for success beyond graduation — whether that path leads to college, careers, military service, or new opportunities. We are proud of each senior and excited to see the impact they will make in the future.

☀️🎨 PreK Family Painting Event☀️🎨

Last week, our youngest Sunshine students in Mrs. Hawkins’s class enjoyed the beautiful weather while creating colorful masterpieces alongside their families. From bright smiles to creative artwork, it was great to see families laughing and making memories together! 🖌️💛

These little artists will be headed to Kindergarten before we know it! Kindergarten Registration for the 2026–2027 school year is now open, and we can’t wait to welcome our future Sunshine Bears! 🐻🌟

TRANSPARENCY TUESDAY | Every five years, our school nutrition program undergoes a comprehensive state Administrative Review… and this year’s results were overwhelmingly positive.

Reviewers commended our team’s “responsiveness to the requests for the Administrative Review” and noted that documentation was provided in a way that “expedited the process” and supported an efficient review.

Rutherford County Schools was also recognized for providing free breakfast and lunch to all students, ensuring “every student has access to nutritious meals, fostering better learning and overall health.”

At the school level, staff members were praised for creating “a positive, supportive environment” and delivering meals with “well-organized, eye-catching presentation” and a “diverse selection” of options.

Myth Busting Monday 💡

Long-range facilities planning is about more than buildings — it’s about protecting student opportunities. The RCS Education Matters Campaign is focused on ensuring every student has access to strong academic programs, career pathways, fine arts, athletics, and student support services.

When enrollment is spread too thin across too many campuses, it becomes harder to sustain the full range of opportunities students deserve. Thoughtful planning helps Rutherford County Schools continue providing high-quality educational experiences for all students across the county.
