Town of Bostic The Town of Bostic is definitely small town friendly. We are one square mile in size. The governing board is made up of six members. The mayor is Mitch Harrill.

Our councilmen are Mike Hollifield Wesley Flynn, Travis Haynes, Billy Lattimore and Charlie Wall. The council meets the first Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. The Town has its own electric, water and garbage service which is provided to our residents. The Max Gunter Park is a nice park for the children to play and a cover picnic area. You may reserve the park for special occasions. Please call o

r come by Town Hall to reserve the park. The Town Hall is open every Thursday from 2pm to 6pm and last Saturday of the month from 8 am to 12pm. If you need to get in touch with the town during the closed hours leave a message at 828-245-5108 and your call will be returned in a timely manner.

Power Outage

8:45 pm: Power is back on.

7:30 pm: The power outage is due to the feed on Duke Powers side. No estimated time has been provided.

6:00 pm: Bostic electric customers are experiencing a power outage. Crews are on the way.

Multiple roadways are flooding. Please avoid is possible: College Ave, Coxe Road, Cleghorn Mill Road, Oak Street in Forest City, and Oakland Rd at Crowe Dairy Road. Never drive through standing water. Turn Around Don't Drown. We will post other roads to avoid as we are made aware.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Rutherford County until 7:15 PM. Storms may produce 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail. Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.

ROAD CLOSURE-OLD SUNSHINE ROAD

Until further notice a portion of Old Sunshine Rd will be closed. Closure is due to ongoing construction on the stormwater system.

WHERE: Between Carson St and Harrison St
When: Monday through Friday from 7 am to 6 pm.

Home owners between the road closure will be allowed access.

Please watch for updates as the construction continues.

📢 Utility Bill Notice

Bostic Utility customers are expected to receive their July utility bills in the mail on Friday, July 24, 2026.

Many customers will notice a higher-than-usual utility bill this month. This is due to the Town's transition to radio-read water meters. As part of this change, the July billing cycle covers 49 days instead of the typical 30-day billing period.

Beginning with the August billing cycle, bills will return to the normal average 30-day billing period.
