We wanted to take one last stop around BU with the UNITY party leader. Check her out below ⬇️⬇️

Shaina Evans | CAS ‘22

For Shaina, advocacy is in her DNA. As the youngest of three, she learned from a young age how to be vocal about what she wanted and needed, and now, Shaina uses her voice to bring student concerns to the forefront as a campus leader. “I’ve never been comfortable sitting in injustice, and it’s never been a problem for me to speak up and fix them,” said Shaina when reflecting on her history of advocacy. She found CAS student government at SPLASH freshman year and has since fought for student needs on campus weekly at Senate meetings and outside on the frontlines hearing student concerns and bringing them back to her fellow Senators. Today, Shaina is leading a new movement on campus as the party leader for UNITY, a coalition that seeks to represent the needs of racial and ethnic minorities across campus.

Shaina on Why BeLoudBU

“They are the slate that is going to make change on campus regardless of what their position is, so why not give them the platform to expand their mission across campus.”

Tyler Kennedy | QST ‘21

Tyler is one of many students whose college experience did not begin at Boston University. Since transferring to BU, Tyler has wasted no time getting involved and has found community in the Asian Student Union and the BU Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. What Tyler loves most about BU is how easy it is for people to make a home for themselves, particularly through clubs and organizations. ”As a transfer student, you’d think it would be difficult to find community at a big school like BU, but I’ve been able to be involved in two groups and make an impact in both,” says Tyler.

Tyler on why BeLoudBU

“BeLoudBU is all about listening to what students want, and I think that’s what BU needs.”
