I just read the EPA has fined another shop alleged emissions tampering.🙄 I don't know why these places don't just take it to trial. Attack it on the facts and aggregate. The EPA isn't doing beneficial with the money they fined the business. The fact these are small businesses makes, it fishing with dynamite. Let's talk about diesel exhaust fluid. What's referred to as DEF or adblue depending on where you're from. Urea while it does exist naturally the specific type they use is synthetic. So basically they inorganic material to make an organic material through the use of petroleum products. We could go further into the origins of where it comes from but that an easy look up on Google or whatever search engine you wanna use. Because diesel exhaust fluid is made up two main ingredients being the urea and other being distilled water. That would also require the use of fuels. Not just in it's process but to be transported as well. I hate having to be the as***le but it seems like it's required because a lot of people are completely full of s**t these days. You run a diesel EGR heavy you get a complete burn of the fuel. This creates soot. Only to burn it more in a diesel oxidation catalyst section of the exhaust system. Next is the diesel particulate filter that catches the unburned particulates. This is another problematic situation because you're restricting an engine that depends on boost for power performance and fuel economy. Imagine if you just took the EGR off and put it to work in the first place. The other problem it causes excessive engine wear and breakdowns that can be completely avoided. The reason why they use Urea and distilled water, is because in the final section of the exhaust called the selective catalytic reduction. That's where it's sprayed and converted to ammonia and breaks down the emissions in theory. I say in theory because most of these don't operate the way they claim in the first place. It's why it's called theory of operation not absolute operational protocol. I doesn't take much effort really to do a little digging and see the problems these systems create. They're ultimately costing more money to fix and maintain. Not to mention requiring harder and harder parts to find. There's a point where this has a feeling of more like extortion than has benefits to proposed religion of climate change. I say religion because it has yet to be proven. The Data represented always has a narrow focus but falls apart under system review. It's an open dynamic system. There's not really any controlling it to begin with. It's why the Navier Stokes equation isn't being completed. You'd need a closed system to apply working models on then prove your model. This can't be done. While they'll just repeat the narrative and shame tactics, it still comes back down to the same argument where's you evidence and proven models. Sorry for the rant. It just needs to be said. 🤷
