Yesterday the crew woke up to a delicious breakfast of Crab-cake Benedict prepared by CS2 Colin Oden. A wonderful breakfast to have while on patrol during yesterday’s snow storm up here in New England.

On Wednesday we said good bye to SN “Scotty” McMahon as he departed for Boatswains Mate “A” School. SN McMahon was awarded the Commandant’s Letter of Commendation ribbon for his dedication, hard work and contributions to our units success. BZ and good luck shipmate!

During our last patrol we took advantage of a beautiful January day off the coast of Massachusetts to award FN Abrante with his Sea Service ribbon (for one year served aboard a cutter) and hold a re-enlistment for BMC Sand who will be assuming command of CG Station Woods Hole early this summer. Congratulations to FN Peter Abrante and our XPO, BMC Sand!

Congratulations to our XPO on his Frocking to Chief Boatswain’s Mate! Yesterday we held the ceremony at Fenway Park with the crew, members of the Chief’s Mess and his family and friends. Chief was pinned by his wife and mother. We were then given a tour of the historic ball park. What a great way to celebrate such an accomplishment!

Thank you to the Boston Red Sox organization and our wonderful ambassador Christine for hosting us and the wonderful hospitality!
