The next City of Boston LEPC meeting will take place on Thursday, October 17th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Florian Hall. Dr. Sophia Dyer, Medical Director for BFD, BEMS and BPD will discuss the response to the Boston Marathon. Mr. Barry Wante, Emergency Management Director for Brigham and Women's Hospital, will discuss their response and actions during the Boston Marathon.

The Boston Hazard Mitigation Plan presents a strategy for reducing the City's vulnerability to the impacts of natural hazard and climate change events, such as heat waves, flooding, hurricanes, earthquakes and winter storms. Join the Boston Conservation Commission in a review of the Plan on September 18th at 6pm, City Hall, Room 801. Comments to the draft Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan are due no later than 5:00pm on Friday, October 18, 2013 to [email protected].

Snow Emergency/Parking Ban: Will be lifted at 6:00PM Tuesday 2/12/13. Vehicles parked in alternate lots should be moved by 8:00PM. In some high traffic areas, temporary no-parking signs will be posted, please follow signs.
Trash/Recycling: Normal Schedule Tuesday 2/12. Crews may be working slowly due to wintry conditions. Please clear a space at the curb for crews to safely collect trash/recycling. If your trash is collected in an alley and it is unshoveled, please hold until your next collection day.
Schools: OPEN Wednesday 2/13
Community Centers: BCYF community centers will be open Tuesday 2/12 from 7:30AM to 6PM. These centers will offer a warm and safe place for young people age six and older while their parents work. All youth are welcome but youth under 12 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at drop-off for the completion of a short intake form.

City's Latest Storm Update

Boston Public Schools: Closed on Monday October 29, 2012

Boston City Hall: Open for essential employees only. Non-essential employees are asked to stay home.

Community Centers: Curtis Hall, Hyde Park, Paris Street and Tobin are open Monday October 29, 2012 from 7:30AM-6PM. Other BCYF centers will open only in the event of an emergency.

Boston Public Libraries: Closed on Monday October 29, 2012

Trash & Recycling: Collection will begin at 5AM. If you can hold items until your next scheduled day, please do so. Avoid placing out barrels or bins; instead please double trash bag for collection.

MBTA: Expect schedule disruptions related to the storm. Please visit www.mbta.com or call 617-222-3200.

Hubway: Expect schedule disruptions related to the storm Please visit www.thehubway.com.

Parking: Daytime posted neighborhood street sweeping cancelled Monday October 29, 2012. All normal parking regulations remain in effect.
