Last Saturday’s Military Ball was truly one for the books. The Charles River Battalion showed up in full force, and it was amazing to see such a strong turnout from our Army Cadets. The presence and professionalism of everyone there really reflected the pride and dedication of our entire program.

Being surrounded by that kind of unity and shared commitment to service is something that won’t be forgotten. On top of that, it was an absolute honor for our program to recognize the retirement of Lieutenant General J.P. McGee.

Second lab of the semester is complete!!!

Despite the cold and snowy weather (again), we spent the entire day outside running STX lanes and putting in the work.

Even our MSI and MSII cadets were fully involved in the stick lanes, stepping up and gaining firsthand experience in how STX lanes are planned and run. Everyone did a great job, and it was great to see the underclassmen learning, adapting, and building confidence in real-time.

Proud of the effort and energy all around. Tough conditions make tougher leaders!

Despite the cold and snow training didn’t stop last Saturday!

The MS1s and MS2s got hands-on with land navigation and sat in classes covering special teams, ruck packing, and STX lanes, building the foundation for future training. Meanwhile, the MS3s were outside grinding through STX lanes and putting their skills to the test. No matter the weather, everyone showed up motivated and continued to sharpen their skills. A solid day of training all around!

Proud moment for BU ROTC!!

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, BU ROTC had the honor of presenting the colors at the Boston Celtics game. Cadets Emma Shevory, Miranda Medlen-Ursell, Kalen Mogil, Milanya Gordiyenko, and Mira Fujii participated in the event, with Mira Fujii leading the color guard. Reflecting on the experience, Fujii shared that it was an honor for the color guard to present the colors during the Celtics’ Martin Luther King Jr. Day recognition game.

It was an unforgettable experience and a meaningful opportunity for BU ROTC to take part in honoring such an important day.

(3/3) Major Update: A huge moment for the Class of 2026, branch assignments are officially in!!!!

After years of hard work, leadership development, late nights, early mornings, and commitment to excellence, every cadet received one of their top branch choices. We are beyond proud and thrilled to celebrate this milestone with them. Each cadet is taking their first big step toward a career that will challenge them, strengthen them, and shape them into the leaders our Army needs.

Now that the assignments have been revealed, it’s time for our favorite part: introducing the cadets of the Class of 2026 and the branches they’ll be joining…

This past Saturday, our MS3s participated in a retrain day focused on sharpening their tactical skills through small-group, hands-on instruction. Cadets rotated through focused classes on OPORDs, TMKs, ORPs, MED planning, Call for Fire, and conducting a Leader’s Recon. Working in tight groups allowed them to receive close, personalized guidance from the MS4s, who provided one-on-one coaching and answered detailed questions.

Throughout the day, Cadets were able to practice each skill through practical exercises and short assessments, helping reinforce their proficiency and build confidence ahead of future training. Despite the cold and rainy weather, morale stayed high, thanks to hot chocolate and homemade pasta that kept everyone warm and motivated.

Overall, it was a productive and engaging training day that strengthened our MS3s’ readiness for camp!

It’s been an eventful few weeks for our ROTC program, here’s a quick recap!

On the weekend of October 4–5, our MSIVs from the CRB participated in a staff ride to Gettysburg, carrying on a tradition now 25 years strong. Cadets delivered insightful briefings on key leaders, units, and decisive moments that shaped the battlefield. A special thank you to Mr. Hadden and Mr. Sugrue for making this experience possible and sharing their expertise.

On Veterans Day, Cadets Fitch, Murphy, Connolly, and Mallory proudly represented the battalion by performing color guard at Stonehill College during the women’s basketball game.

A heartfelt thank you to all Veterans for your service, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to our nation.
