Proud to be on Team Simon!

I remember being so proud to pay my first union dues as a newly minted 22-year-old special education math teacher in Harlem. In the months that followed, my colleagues would come in my classroom during their precious few free periods, helping me manage my class and turning me from an ineffective teacher into a good one. So, to now receive the endorsement of AFT Massachusetts bears special meaning to me. As a State Representative for the 14th Middlesex District, I will always keep in mind that the well-being of our school staff is directly related to the well-being of our children. I will work hard to make Massachusetts the best place in the country for teachers and school staff to work, improve, and stay in the profession. Thank you to the AFT, and thank you to our teachers — mine, yours, and all those who choose to enter this noble calling. I’ve got your back.

In honor of summer orientation starting tomorrow, we wanted to look back at one of our favorite moments from the spring semester - our trip to the State House!!

Our spring semester was one to remember and was full of laughs, learning, and organizing. We had an incredible cohort and wish them all the best on their next adventures.
