From 2016 the Man Booker International Prize has evolved to encourage more publishing and reading of quality fiction in translation. From this date the prize is to be awarded annually on the basis of a single book.

The winners of this year's Reading the West Book Awards have just been announced. "News of the World" by Paulette Jiles is the fiction winner. "The Hour of Land: A Personal Topography of America's National Parks" by Terry Tempest Williams won the nonfiction prize. The prize for children's literature went to "Runs with Courage" by Joan M. "Considering this book series has been consuming me for the past couple of weeks and it's all I can talk about, I can't not recommend it to you. The first in the series, "A Court of Thorns and Roses", starts off as a retelling of Beauty and the Beast set in a faerie world, but once the second book, "A Court of Mist and Fury" comes around everything is completely turned on it's head and the world expands vastly, introducing new characters you will fall deeply in love with.
