City Mission Boston

City Mission Boston Eradication of family homelessness Today the organization touches the lives of over 35,000 Boston area residents each year. City Mission is unique.

City Mission Boston educates and empowers individuals and communities to expose systemic barriers and act together to advance economic and racial equality for under-served families. We combat homelessness and poverty through a multi-level approach to service delivery. We provide direct services that are designed to empower participants, service –learning and urban immersion experiences that are de

signed to teach and inspire, and public education campaigns which use storytelling as a healing tool for social change. It works for program participants by working with them to empower. It not only provides direct services but it also advocates for systemic change in public policy. City Mission works in both the city and the suburbs, building bridges across perceived boundaries. It is part of the service community and the religious community as well. It raises awareness on issues of social justice and it provides volunteer and service opportunities for people to contribute to social change. And it has done all these things for almost 200 years through faith, compassion and love.
