Board Member Spotlight🔦

The Associates' are excited to shine a spotlight on Lisa Fagin Davis, our Board of Directors Co-Vice Chair, Programming, and her recent feature in The Guardian regarding her work on the Voynich Manuscript.

Alongside fellow researcher, Colin Layfield, Davis makes the argument that incorrect binding of Voynich manuscript "radically changes ideas about its drawings and indecipherable text." (The Guardian)

What an unforgettable evening celebrating the heart of our growing Writer-In-Residence community! 📚✨

This past Tuesday, we gathered for the Alan Andres Writing Fellows Reading & Celebration. From hearing inspiring remarks from our new Writer in Residence and Picture Book Writing Fellow to watching our outgoing fellows present their finished manuscripts to be added to the Special Collections archive, it was a powerful reminder of the lasting impact of storytelling.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this special evening possible: our dedicated judges, selection committee, staff, friends, family, and, above all, our incredible writers. Thank you for sharing your passion, vision, and talent with us.

We can’t wait to see what this next year brings for all of you! ✨📝

Meet Hanna! 👋🏼 Our 2026 Associates Funded Conservation Intern

Hanna Rashidi is a recent graduate of the North Bennet Street School Bookbinding program, and spent her summer with the conservation team in Special Collections working on some very special projects.

One of those projects? Helping to restabilize for handling an edition of the Liberty Bell, published in 1846 by the Friends of Freedom. 📚

Wishing a fond farewell to Vidisha Agarwalla! 📚✨

Yesterday marked Vidisha’s last day with the Associates after three years as our Communications and Operations Specialist. During her time with the Associates, she elevated our external communications, brought our signature events to new audiences, and highlighted our mission through staff interviews, the Literary Influencers and Ambassadors program, and key press coverage.

Vidisha, thank you for your dedication, creativity, and hard work. We are so grateful for all you’ve done for the Associates and wish you all the success in your next chapter! 👏
