Dear neighbors of Jamaica Plain,
It has been my absolute pleasure serving as Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Coordinator and City Wide Latina Liason for the past three years for the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services. From attending community meetings about local issues to helping new business open. I have learned so much from our neighborhood and how government helps to improve our lives. I have also learned a great deal from the many residents and activists who put in tireless hours engaging in our government to improve our neighborhood.
At a very young age I knew my purpose was to help others.Having the opportunity to work for an individual whom not only believes in the American Dream, but also gives those around him the opportunity to believe in themselves only makes this journey so much more than just a simple job. Some might say this is just a job, but to me it is the opportunity of a lifetime. Being able to serve my community not only allows me to change people’s lives, but it also gives me the chance to be a voice within.
I look forward to continuing the important work of civic engagement and community outreach under the leadership of Mayor Walsh, Chief Jerome Smith, and the amazing hardworking team of the Mayor’s Civic Engagement Cabinet as I begin to take on a new role and challenge. I look forward to continuing my work with Mayor Walsh and the employees of the City of Boston to better serve constituents, engage Bostonians, and improve access to their government. Working in the Mayor's office of Neighborhood Services has been a dream come true, and daily I remind myself of the wise words of Gandhi
“ The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”
I would like to introduce your new amazing JP
Coordinator Enrique José Pepén I know he will do an amazing job and love JP much as I do
