Meet Officer Ashley Farfaras, this month’s !

Ashley joined the Boston University Police Department in October after a family friend recommended the department. Her passion for criminal justice was sparked in childhood by shows such as Criminal Minds, leading her to earn bachelor’s degrees in criminology and psychology from Merrimack College. She attended the Merrimack College MPTC full-time academy while completing a Master’s in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Following a year of full-time patrol work in another city, Ashley made the move to BUPD.

One of Ashley’s favorite parts of her job is attending sporting and community events and being able to see students enjoying their time at BU. She hopes to foster a culture of empathy and accountability while helping to maintain a safe and secure campus.

“Through respectful, community-focused interactions, I aim to build trust and ensure that members of the campus community feel supported and confident in BUPD’s commitment to their well-being.”

Ashley is excited to be a part of the BU family and make a positive impact on the community. When she’s not on the job, she enjoys working out and is hoping to complete her first half marathon this year.
