Domestic violence looks different in today’s world, and the Massachusetts Senate is keeping up. We’re cracking down on online harm—including fake images made with AI—and making sure teens learn from mistakes through education instead of harsh punishment. The Senate has also directed funding to boost medical care, emergency help, counseling, legal support, and community-based prevention efforts. By focusing on prevention and awareness, we’re building safer, stronger communities for everyone during and beyond.

This October marks two years since Massachusetts put some of the strongest gun safety reforms in the country into place. We banned untraceable guns, strengthened our red flag laws, and closed loopholes so illegal assault weapons stay off our streets. We were able to do it because police, community activists, and lawmakers worked together. Our communities and our Commonwealth are safer today because of that teamwork.
