The Roxbury Sunflower Project 2020 launches this Friday, June 5th! Come pick up your sunflower seeds! Friday, 4-6pm, Black Market, 2136 Washington Street, in Nubian Square. Black Market

This is the 3rd year of the Roxbury Sunflower Project founded by CACP’s own Ekua Holmes who believes that planting a seed is an act of hope and determination.

From the Sunflower Project Blog: “This year we will give away over 10,000 sunflower seeds to be planted in backyards, front yards, community gardens and other sunny spaces around the city. Now more than ever we need beauty, radiance, deep roots and resilience to face the issues of our times together. When we plant together we are changing the landscape and energy of our communities.”

Take a moment and step into a child's shoes and mind. Remember their innocence and carefree creativity that goes into making art and craft. Our partnership students at Lee Academy Pilot School share their creative flow through the decoration of a perfect shoe. #MondayMotivation #EliotArtTogether
Yesterday I was at our school. The grounds are so pretty in the springtime. It was odd being there with the hallways being so quiet. I realized as I walked the halls that a school is so much more than a building. It was made even more apparent to me that a school is a community and a family that does not rely on the walls to define it. Over the past weeks, we have more clearly defined who we are as the Lee Academy Family and what we believe in. I want to let all of our educators know how much I appreciate the work that they are doing and let all of our families know that we understand how difficult this is for you and our children. We are here for you!

This was last week when our family was going through a very painful situation. Coping with the loss of a love one. Mrs. Gorman immediately noticed something was different with Sarahi and found time to make her day and pain better. Again I cannot thank you enough for your sincere and genuine care and attention you always have shown for our family. You are a true leader and a wonderful human being. My blessings to you and your family
Congratulations to all Lee Academy Teachers! During this upcoming week in which we celebrate and honor your wonderful commitment to our community and especially our beloved children’s. Words cannot express my gratitude to Sarahi’s teachers from K1 to 1st grade and also our beloved Mrs. Gorman our incredible leader.
