BIG day at the library today!
It starts with the Freedom to Read Day of Action: Communities Unite Against Book Bans! (https://bpl.bibliocommons.com/events/6707ec78dfa2e93600060de4) Libraries across the country are hosting events today in support of the Freedom to Read! Stop by the plaza on Dartmouth St. to her about this important issue.
Then, at 1pm, check out the film screening of the documentary, F***Y: THE RIGHT TO ROCK (https://bpl.bibliocommons.com/events/65eb4cc1501498f32150ff0b), about the revolutionary all-girl, Filipina rock band from the early 70's. Part of our Revolutionary Music series.
The whole day is capped with an amazing conversation about music and activism between two revolutionary musicians, June Millington, lead guitarist of the band F***y, and Canadian musician and author, Emm Gryner. (And not a spoiler -- they're going to perform together!)
It's worth the trip into the City!
Join rock pioneer June Millington and acclaimed indie artist Emm Gryner for an enlightening discussion and performance. This program will happen in-person and over Zoom webinar. To register for in-person attendance, visit the "Registration Required" box on this calendar entry. We plan to open doors....
