Pioneer Valley families have borne the brunt of environmental pollution for far too long. Our office is funding the installation of new air quality monitors to provide these communities with the tools they need to protect themselves from health risks posed by air pollution.

The holidays are stressful enough without flights being unexpectedly cancelled or delayed for hours. As families and airlines get ready for a busy travel season, I'm urging U.S. Department of Transportation to strengthen consumer protections, including providing ticket refunds and travel vouchers.

Every one of these incidents should be a wake up call. The rising hate and racism across the country extends into our schools. We all must take action to make sure schools are safe and welcoming—students and educators deserve that.

Principal Keith S. Ford, who is Black, said in a letter to parents that the “graffiti was threatening to me personally, as well as other members of the school community.”

Help is out there to put food on the table and keep the lights on this winter. Energy prices are going up, so we're partnering with Project Bread and regional food banks to let people know what they should do if they fall behind on their bills.

Utilities can't shut off power during the winter months, but residents are still responsible for bills during that time.
