Big shoutout to one of our new members Jason! He’s been going above and beyond putting in extra training on his own, working with captains and chiefs, and showing up for two drill days every week. 🚧 Major Road Work Notice from Erie County DPW 🚧

Please be advised that beginning June 15, Boston State Road (CR-227) between Zimmerman Road and Mill Street will be reduced to a single lane for milling and overlay work.

The project is expected to continue through July 3, or until work is complete. The work will be performed by the Erie County Department of Public Works – Hamburg Maintenance Barn.

Please use caution in the area, expect possible delays, and plan travel accordingly. Thank you for your patience while these improvements are being made!

First Monday of the month is always a meeting however, we had to take advantage of the nice weather with our resident rescue tech. A bit of low angle and some confidence training before the meeting yesterday. We also approved the purchase of a force entry training door to use on rainy days and live burns 👀. Tonight for drill North Boston invited us to their hall where the county brought the forced entry trailer. We went through prying open doors cutting through locks and using k tools to preserve doors when we can. Thanks for having us North Boston Volunteer Fire Company!

☀️Nice weather, new members, and more training!
With the weather finally getting better we’ve been doing a lot of extra training days!
Our 9-2 Ryan showed our new member Jason some rope rescue! We used our burn building for some live fire training with our ladder truck, and did some search training in our training tower!
If you ever see us out there and have thought about joining stop in for an application!

A few months ago our engine 1 departed from the US after being sold to another volunteer fire company in Chile. They gave it a very nice facelift and hope it serves Cuerpo de Bomberos Maipu well for years to come!
