Delegating NPDES authority to MassDEP is the right thing to do. Local management = better H2O resources protection. MassDEP already successfully manages Massachusetts' clean air, hazardous waste, and drinking water programs. Thank you MassDEP for aligning with EPA’s timeline for the MS4 permit. The MS4 permit’s implementation will be delayed by one year, a decision that supports both the environment and Massachusetts communities. MA communities will continue to manage stormwater to benefit the environment, residents, and businesses.

Great news! U.S. EPA - New England Region agreed to our request to postpone the MA MS4 General Permit effective date! The effective date has been delayed by one year to July 1, 2018.
