IN MEMORIAM | BINO BRANCO

The Cape Verdean Association of Boston extends our deepest condolences on the passing of Bino Branco, legendary lead singer and founding member of Ferro Gaita, who passed away at the age of 56.

Bino Branco was a powerful voice of Cabo Verdean music and a dedicated ambassador of Funaná, helping bring our culture, traditions, and music to generations in Cabo Verde and throughout the diaspora.

His voice, talent, and contributions to Cabo Verdean culture will never be forgotten. His music will continue to live on and inspire generations to come.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, fellow Ferro Gaita members, and the entire Cabo Verdean community during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Bino Branco. Your legacy lives on.

Nominations are reopened!

Nominations are open for the 3rd Annual 40 Under 40 “Gala di Mérito” celebrating Cabo Verdean individuals under 40 who are making an impact in Boston, across the U.S., in Cabo Verde, and around the world.

This is an opportunity to recognize the leaders, innovators, and changemakers in our community who are creating positive impact across many fields, including education, social services, public safety, youth advocacy, entrepreneurship, the arts, healthcare, business, and more.

Nominees must meet the following criteria to be considered:

• Be Cabo Verdean or Cabo Verdean-American
• Be under 40 years old
• Be born in Boston, currently live in Boston, or own/work at a business in Boston
• Have made a significant impact in their field or community

If you know someone who deserves to be recognized for the work they do and the impact they make, we encourage you to submit a nomination and help us celebrate their achievements.

Let’s continue uplifting and honoring those making a difference in our community and beyond.
