All children deserve to have fun and make memories over the summer. Unfortunately, for kids with complex emotional or behavioral challenges, this time of year can bring loneliness and uncertainty, due to the loss of school-year support and a reliable routine.

That is where The Home’s Camp Wediko comes in. Here, kids aren’t defined by their struggles. They’re given the chance to just be kids, with the support of trained clinicians who empower them with strategies to heal and experiences to build confidence.

Your support is critical as we prepare to welcome campers back for another season. Join us today to give our kids a summer they’ll never forget!

The Thrift Shop of Boston is celebrating 100 years of business!

Earlier this month, The Home joined shop staff, volunteers and longtime supporters at The Substation in Roslindale to recognize a century’s worth of second-hand shopping and its impact on our local community.

For many decades, The Thrift Shop of Boston has donated 100% of its proceeds to The Home, helping to bring safety, healing and hope to thousands of young lives each year. To date, their generosity has amounted to over $2 million in support of The Home’s programs!

We are deeply grateful to The Thrift Shop of Boston for this partnership, and to the passionate team behind the success of this neighborhood treasure.

Congratulations, friends! 🌟

The Home for Little Wanderers was privileged to experience the Boston Red Sox' annual Pride Night at Fenway Park last week, complete with an incredible on-field moment before the game. ⚾ 🌈

It was a delight to celebrate Pride, connect as a team and watch the Red Sox take on the Toronto Blue Jays. Special thanks to our friends at the Highland Street Foundation, for making this memorable evening possible for our youth and staff!

Summer should be a time filled with laughter and carefree memories for every child.

But for many kids at The Home, summer can be a difficult time of the year. When school ends, so does counseling, access to reliable meals and reliable support systems.

That’s why we wrap our kids and families in care all summer long, providing therapy and counseling, essential items, dependable housing and academic support, ensuring that they have what they need to feel safe and stay on track.

Our kids need us, and YOU, when the school year ends. Help us support kids all summer long with a gift today: https://secure2.convio.net/hlw/site/Donation2;jsessionid=00000000.app20077a?mfc_pref=T&df_id=7860&7860.donation=form1&NONCE_TOKEN=B81586C73F663183129D0B9BDAABF6DB

On Thursday, Housing and Livable Communities Secretary Juana Matias visited The Home for Little Wanderers’ Somerville Village program to learn more about its work supporting young people experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

The visit included a tour, conversations with residents and a meeting with program leadership about how The Home helps young adults build stability, independence and brighter futures.

HLC is grateful for partners like The Home for Little Wanderers as we continue working across the Healey-Driscoll Administration to strengthen housing supports for youth and young adults across Massachusetts.

Today, The Home is walking alongside Governor Maura Healey, Senator Ed Markey and thousands of our neighbors in the Boston Boston Pride for the People Parade, uniting to celebrate the strength, joy and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community.

Every child deserves to feel like they belong, that they are accepted and appreciated for who they are. For our LGBTQ+ youth, that sense of belonging can make all the difference.

The Home is proud to support LGBTQ+ kids and families across our organization, and to help build a more inclusive future for all of us.
Happy Pride, Boston! 🏳️‍🌈

For more than a century, The Home has been part of the fabric of New Hampshire. Today, we’re building brighter futures across the Granite State through multiple programs that support children, young adults and families when they need it most.

Next week, we will stand alongside fellow New Hampshire nonprofits creating meaningful change for NH Gives, the state’s biggest day of giving! 🎉 And the best part? Thanks to the generosity of a New Hampshire resident, we're matching all donations, up to $10,000, dollar-for-dollar!

With an NH Gives donation, you can help The Home:
💚 Address youth homelessness and support young adults aging out of foster care
💚 Offer individualized care to students and campers with complex needs at The Wediko School and Camp Wediko
💚 Provide safe housing and support for LGBTQ+ youth
💚 Protect kids and families through our New Hampshire After-Hours Abuse and Neglect Hotline

We hope you’ll join us June 9-10! To learn more or make a gift, visit https://www.nhgives.org/organization/The-Home-For-Little-Wanderers

At age 12, Logan* was thrust into the foster care system. He believed he had no one... until The Home stepped in.

With the support of our Youth Permanency Connections Program, Logan was reconnected with his four older sisters and, over time, he formed a bond with his sister Deborah*, who welcomed him into her family through adoption. Today, Logan is surrounded by the love of a sibling who believed in him and a home filled with laughter.

This , we're celebrating stories like Logan's that demonstrate the power of permanency, family bonds and new beginnings. If you or someone you know is interested in fostering opportunities, please contact our team at [email protected].

After years in foster care, 15-year-old Logan finally found permanency through adoption by his sister with support from The Home’s Youth Permanency Connections program.
