We capped off our Teen Workforce summer program with a week of career and life readiness workshops! Our teens covered everything from resume writing and interviews to navigating the T and financial literacy. To top it off, the Bank on Boston team led a session on the value of creating Roth IRA Savings Accounts.

40 of our BGCD members had the ultimate day on the court at New Balance’s “The Track” for the Beantown Elite Experience Clinic! 🏀👟 Our youth laced up in brand-new sneakers and gear to take part in running drills alongside top high school talent and NBA All-Star Darius Garland.

BGCD was excited to host our friends from STAG Industrial for a service day event! 💙 Over 40 employees spent the day painting, laying mulch, landscaping and adding new top soil and grass seed to the playground. To close out the 36th year of our Safe Summer Streets program we hosted a Boston Harbor sunset cruise in partnership with UMass Boston for our Power Forward participants! 🌅🚤 The 2-hour cruise was an opportunity to recognize our Teen Workforce cohort for their efforts this summer, including attending all of the learning sessions.

BGCD was excited to partner with the Yawkey Foundation to host a Play Ball Clinic for 70 members at McConnell Park! ⚾ Clinicians from the Boston Red Sox Youth Baseball and Softball program worked members through a series of drill stations to create excitement and interest in Baseball/Softball. Red Sox Alumni Sam Horn was on hand to greet everyone and Wally the Green Monster even made an appearance! Each participant received a new shirt, lunch and a take home bat/ball set.

Many thanks to the Yawkey Foundation for continuing the legacy of bringing baseball into the community, and for making this opportunity possible!

As BGCD continues construction on The FieldHouse+, our Teen Summer Workforce cohort had the opportunity to take an after hours tour of the building once all of the work had been completed for the day! 🦺🛠️ Teens were offered a glimpse of what the various program spaces will look like while learning about the different Trades working on the building.

We look forward to hosting these same Teens as new members when the Facility opens next spring!

BGCD was excited to once again partner with Planet Fitness and the Flynn Group on their recent Back-to-School supply drive in their local gyms! 📓🖍️ Planet Fitness members donated backpacks and school supplies to be distributed to our members as they return to school.

During the final week of Summer Camp, Dell generously supported and volunteered at our Field Day at McConnell Park! ☀ More than 50 volunteers helped lead activity stations and spend the day with our campers. Thanks to our friends at Dell for making this a memorable day for our members!
