Through shared resources and cross-agency learning, we work in solidarity to create thriving immigrant communities. The Massachusetts Immigrant Collaborative is a statewide, multilingual and diverse collaborative of 15 immigrant serving support organizations, working to ensure shared access to resources. We support with dignity and equity immigrant communities that have been historically under-res

ourced, including those at-risk and/or without status. By joining forces the Collaborative has been able to serve more than 150,000 immigrants in the last 3 years. We do this in solidarity with the families, respecting their human rights, and investing in their long term economic mobility, while seeking to address urgent needs such as cash and food assistance, immigration legal services and access to other services and opportunities. In 2025, MIC and our dedicated partners served over 800 families at no cost, providing vital legal representation for complex cases like VAWA and U Visas.

From protecting survivors of violence to helping individuals like "Valentina" pursue their dreams, our mission remains focused on dignity and empowerment. As we share our 2025 Year in Review, we remain committed to ensuring every immigrant in Massachusetts has access to the legal guidance they deserve.

The MIC team was glad to support the MIRA: Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, Inc. at their 30th annual Give Liberty a Hand gala last Wednesday. We are proud to stand with MIRA to support immigrant and refugee communities across Massachusetts. Executive Director Frank DeVito and new Development Director Noel Rubio attended the event alongside MIC Board Members Lenita Reason (Executive Director of the Brazilian Worker Center) and Patricia Sobalvarro (Executive Director of Agencia ALPHA). Thank you, MIRA, for a wonderful evening and for all that you do.

On May 7th, the Massachusetts Senate voted in favor (37-3) of the PROTECT Act! This follows the House vote in March for this transformative legislation, which includes crucial guardrails to protect our communities from ICE. Both bills now move to the conference committee, which will negotiate the final bill for passage.

Please use our easy click-to-email tool to thank your Senator for their historic vote in favor of the PROTECT Act, S.3072, and ask for their continued support in the legislative process. This bill would establish important limits on state and local collaboration with ICE, including a ban on new 287(g) agreements with all law enforcement agencies and prohibiting law enforcement from asking about immigration status.
