We're proud of our participants who have gone on to create their own businesses in Massachusetts. Here are just a few to check out!

The Silent Seed is a Deaf-owned business by Jude Haverington. You can find houseplants of all kinds, including rare and specialty plants, at his Newburyport greenhouse or find him across the state at pop-ups, farmers markets, and more!

Bears Boneyard Recovery is a trauma-informed fitness & recovery coaching studio in Taunton owned by Joel Brooks, who draws on his lived experience and recovery coach education to support individuals in healing and reintegrating into their communities.

Wheels on the Bus transportation is an accessible transportation company that services the Central Mass area, owned and operated by Manny Marcelino, a power wheelchair user. Wheels on the Bus offers non-medical transportation, providing access to individuals with disabilities to enjoy leisure activities, anytime travel, and more without limitations.

Roxease is an adaptive fashion line created by Roxy Rocker, who wanted to create fashion designed for accessibility after struggling to find adaptive clothes that look and feel great while accommodating medical devices and surgical drains.

Tucker Collins is a photographer based in Central Mass who has been behind the camera for over a decade, and is well-known locally as the fan photographer at the Worcester Red Sox, capturing the moments and details that catch his eye.

Summer shout-out! Our Home and Community Life staff work hard to provide important supports and services to people in the community; from case managers and 1:1 program coordinators, to directors and clinical staff, everyone plays an important role in the work we do. Access to the right medical equipment, whether eyeglasses, hearing aids, prosthetics, or other essential equipment, is critical to a person's success.

Under our newly posted RFR, we're working to expand our medical equipment provider so that people with disabilities across the state can access the equipment they need to reach their employment goals.

A recent graduate from the Pine Street Inn program, Lincoln Latham, shared how important it was to access resources and opportunities in his own community. Native to Roxbury, Lincoln found employment support through MassAbility’s Roxbury office and soon after entered the Pine Street Inn Food Services and Housekeeping Training program with the support of his MassAbility Career Counselor and Job Placement Specialist. Through on-the-job training and financial literacy courses, Lincoln grew professionally while also receiving compensation for his work for Pine Street Inn. Lincoln is one of the many participants who benefited from working with MassAbility and our strong network of partners and providers. Thank you, Lincoln, for sharing your story!

Last Friday, 8/7, we had the opportunity to host a workshop presented by MassAbility to learn more about the services and resources they offer!

It was a very informative workshop, and we truly appreciate MassAbility taking the time to come out, connect with us, and share valuable information with our participants.
