Brutus the Firetruck arrived today! It’s a used apparatus that we purchased from a Dept in upstate New York. Over the next few weeks you might see this Beautiful Blue Fire truck out and about as we are working to get in put into service as soon as possible. Feel free to stop and give it a look over when you see us. Also, as always we could still use a few more good women and men.

10:30pm Update: Scene is clear and road is open.

---Original Post---
A wreck is blocking KY 733 in western Nelson County. This section of KY 733 is a detour for the US 62 bridge replacement project. Clearing is expected to take several hours. Motorists traveling US 62 not needing local access between Boston and Bardstown should utilize KY 52 to Bluegrass Parkway to US 31E as a re-route.

Yesterday was a sad day for Boston Vol Fire and Rescue. We lost one of our own. Mr Joe Cissell. If you notice his hat, he was a very proud World War 2 and Korean Conflict Veteran for the US Air Force. He was a Husband, Father and Friend to all. He was an older Gentleman Fire fighter, but his age did not slow him down or hesitate to go above and beyond for any Fire Dept need. He leaves behind a value of power for all of us to wish we have in the coming years. Rest easy Joe. God Bless all.

Boston Volunteer Fire had our annual appreciation dinner for the Fire Dept and Board Members last weekend. We also said goodbye to Captain David Martin who retired at the end of last year with 40 years of Volunteer Fire Service. At the end of 24, we ended up with 65 Fire runs which has been the lowest in History. It shows our Community is actively being safe. God Bless

Good Monday Morning Boston. It's cold and snowy, powers been out. And we managed. Thanks for driving safely and just being safe. A safe community , keeps us safe as well. We did have a Medical run yesterday that was a little tuff to maneuver, but managed. Please stay in doors if you can and make sure any space heaters are in a safe place to prevent fires and burns from little ones and pets. Have a Blessed day.
