It's always great catching up with Julie Thompson on You the People for our quarterly legislative update. We were able to touch upon what's been happening up on Beacon Hill and throughout the South Shore during the spring and summer months.

You can catch this episode on both Norwell Spotlight TV and Harbor Media, or watch it online here- https://bit.ly/4y1SzvD

It was awesome to join Blades, former Bruin Tim Sweeney, Representative Meschino, and members of the community at the Paul Pratt Library in Cohasset for the annual Summer Library Program, put on by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and the Boston Bruins.

Since 2009 millions of kids, teens, and adults have participated in this statewide program. The event included a hockey-themed story with Blades, crafts, games and more. I was happy to participate by asking trivia questions and participating in the activities of the day.

This was a wonderful way to celebrate a summer full of reading and I was happy to be a part of this event.

I stopped by Camp Wing to celebrate their 90th summer session coming to an end. Crossroads empowers young people to unlock their potential and positively impact the world.

In Duxbury, Camp Wing offers eight weeks of residential overnight and day summer programs where children in grades 2-8 experience the power of the Crossroads community as they enjoy cabin life, learn to swim and ride a bike, take on the high ropes course, explore nature, and make new friends. Crossroads ensures that accessibility is never an issue for any child, regardless of financial circumstances.

Thanks for having me and congratulations on another great camp season!

I stopped by SAIL Home for the Dreams Set SAIL open house last week. The evening gave attendees the opportunity to meet residents and families, tour the home, and see firsthand the impact of their investment in this project.

SAIL's mission is to serve as a model to demonstrate how a pioneering approach can combine housing, services, and training to solve the challenge of meaningful affordable housing.

In the past, I have been able to secure SAIL Home funding through the state budget. I look forward to continuing to work closely with SAIL Home and I appreciate all the work that you are doing to improve our community on the South Shore. Thank you for dedicating so much time to improve the lives of others.
