We heard you loud and clear, hair jewelry lovers! We were blown away by the amount of support we received for our hair jewelry program with Nora Carleson . It sold out quickly, and we know there are so many of you who are interested! So . . .
. . We’re hosting another one! Join us on Saturday, November 21 from 5-7 PM for a hair jewelry lecture and workshop with Dr. Nora Carleson. After learning about hair jewelry, take some time to make your own based on historical examples. Jewelry supplies and artificial hair will be provided, but feel free to bring your own hair!

To make sure everyone has a shot at getting tickets for this event, tickets will be going live this Friday, August 21 at 12 PM. Set a reminder now—space is limited!

Behind the Gibson House Museum’s beautiful interiors are deeply human stories of love, loss, and struggle. Join Curator Hailey Robbins for a lecture on Dr. Freeman Allen, Mary Ethel Gibson’s husband and prominent Boston doctor at the turn of the twentieth century. This lecture goes behind the facade of Freeman’s public persona and into his personal struggles with mental illness and addiction at the end of his life.

We are sorry to learn of the passing of Jonathan Fairbanks, lifelong scholar and lover of American material culture. He was always supportive of the Gibson House and was our Honoree at the 2014 Benefit. His generosity of spirit will be missed.
