September is , a time to bring awareness to the stunning food insecurity in our community and take action to address it. Every day at Rosie’s Place, through our Food Pantry and Dining Room, we make healthy meals possible for nearly 1,000 women and children who might otherwise go without.

You can help us in this critical work but hosting a virtual food drive today: https://bit.ly/rosiesplace2026

Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we invite you to stand with us as a community to remember, honor and grieve those we have lost to overdose. We know that overdose is preventable, recovery is possible, and unconditional support and compassion can make a difference.

This week, we say a grateful goodbye to our 2026 class of Social Justice Institute participants. These high school students who took part in our ten-week service-learning curriculum were an enthusiastic and impactful addition to our community this summer. Students concluded their time with us leading presentations on what they learned and will take with them from their time at Rosie’s Place. We wish all these changemakers the best in their new endeavors!

When a woman walks through our doors, she immediately has access to a wide array of emergency, expert and long-term supports. Quite often the thing she needs first, and most is a friendly smile and a listening ear. We give all that and more, every day at Rosie’s Place, thanks to our extraordinary community of friends.

Many of our guests struggle with mental illness, physical disabilities, language and other barriers that can jeopardize their living situations. Bill paying, housekeeping tasks or mediating disputes with landlords and neighbors can overwhelm and ultimately sabotage a woman’s housing. Our Housing Stabilization Program delivers services to guests in their own homes, providing expert support and resources for them to maintain stable housing and health.

Today we celebrate Women’s Equality and mark 106 years since the 19th Amendment was certified, recognizing women's constitutional right to vote. This act was a powerful step in the right direction for women’s equality, although women of color did not secure the right to vote across all states until the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

For more than 52 years, Rosie’s Place has remained committed to amplifying the voices of the most vulnerable women in our community. Today and tomorrow, we will continue our work for equality, dignity and opportunity for the women we serve.

Chronic homelessness has continued to rise in the past decade. In response, Rosie’s Place’s programs and services have continually grown. Today, we are serving more women in more ways than ever before. Last year alone, we provided wraparound supports to nearly 15,000 women.

Through our Day and Overnight Shelters, Day, Advocacy Program, Housing Search Services and spectrum of services, we strive to provide poor and homeless women with sanctuary, support and kindness they deserve.
