While the LGBTQIA+ movement has made progress, many folks in our community have been left behind. Trans folks, and especially trans folks of color, experience the impact of the disparity in the way we have built this movement for liberation. We commit to the fight for justice and freedom again and again and we see liberation in our truth.

Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility. We see and we celebrate all the members of the trans community, today and everyday.

We are going to continue to fight for the rights of trans kids in Arkansas and across the country, because trans rights are human rights, and we want to honor that especially today.

Holly Ryan made history when she was elected as the first openly trans woman to serve on a City Council in Massachusetts. She is the first openly LGBTQ+ person elected to the Newton City Council.

A founding member and former co-chair of the Mass Trans Political Coalition (MTPC) she was instrumental in building the coalition that led to the passage of both the 2011 Trans Rights Law and the 2016 Public Accommodation Law.
