Don’t miss our story about the Conley Elementary School, where Inclusion is a way of being.

Conley Elementary has embraced the Boston Public Schools Inclusive Education Plan in recent years, creating classrooms and a school community where every student has access to grade-level curriculum, the supports they need to succeed and the opportunity to do so in the most-appropriate learning space.

This shift has helped form a community where every student is known, supported, challenged, and celebrated – and where learning to understand and value one another is part of every student's education.

On Friday Oct 2, BPS schools, educators, partners, alumni and community members are celebrating the many paths students can take after high school. Wear or share something that represents a college, training program, career, trade or other pathway - and tell students about the journey that got you where you are today.

Students: Your path doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. Explore what interests you, ask questions and discover what’s possible.

October is National Principals Month!

As Boston Public Schools superintendent Mary Skipper says:

“Today marks the beginning of National Principals Month, a special time when we recognize the dedication and incredible contributions of our talented school leaders throughout the Boston Public Schools (BPS). BPS’s outstanding principals support and develop children's academics and social emotional and physical well being with high expectations, love, and care. Working alongside skilled educators, our school leaders are committed to creating welcoming spaces for all students and families. At BPS, we are blessed with school leaders who believe in our students’ brilliance and potential. Please join me in celebrating our school principals and thanking them for the work they do on behalf of our students and families this month and every day.”

Boston Public Schools and the Red Sox Foundation celebrated the newly renovated gymnasium and outdoor recreational spaces at Blackstone Elementary School last week. The improvements include new wall pads and a Green Monster-inspired wall and staircase for the gym, and a brand-new baseball diamond in the schoolyard.
Students also participated in a PLAY BALL clinic led by Red Sox Foundation staff. We’re grateful to the Red Sox Foundation for its longstanding partnership with BPS and for investing in spaces that match the pride our students bring to school each day!

Join us in congratulating the 89 Boston Public Schools 2026 graduates, who form the newest cohort of Boston University Thomas M. Menino Scholars and Community Leader Scholars! Each student will receive scholarship support, academic programming, mentoring, and other resources throughout their time at BU.

BPS Superintendent Mary Skipper was among those who celebrated the cohort Monday, August 31, at the 2026 BU Menino & Community Leaders Award Ceremony.

We are so proud of them and excited to see what positive contributions they make on campus and in their communities!
