🚧 South Street Project Update: PAVING IS COMPLETE! 🎉

This is the update we’ve been waiting for! The new asphalt surface is officially complete on South Street Phase I, and after months of construction, the project is very nearly finished.

From a new water main and service lines, to stormwater improvements, subgrade stabilization, new curbs, sidewalks, driveway approaches, yard restoration, and now a brand-new road surface, South Street has undergone a complete transformation.

At this point, only one major piece remains: installation of the new street lighting! 💡

A huge thank you goes out to the South Street residents for their patience and cooperation throughout construction. We know living in the middle of a major reconstruction project isn’t always easy, but we hope everyone agrees that the finished product is looking pretty great.

Phase I is almost in the books! 🏁

🚧 South Street Project Update: The End Is Near! 🚧

This is a BIG one! All concrete work on the South Street Reconstruction Project is officially complete! 🎉 Yard grading behind the new sidewalks has also been completed, and grass will be planted tomorrow, Saturday, September 26th.

Next week brings one of the final major stages of the project. Wagner Paving will be on South Street Monday and Tuesday to fine-grade the road surface in preparation for asphalt paving later in the week. Residents in the project area will need to have their vehicles out of their driveways by Monday morning so crews can complete this work and prepare for paving.

Once asphalt work begins, paving will take a minimum of two days, with at least one day for the base course and another for the surface course. The good news is that the road will be drivable shortly after the asphalt is placed, so access should return relatively quickly as each phase is completed.

After paving, only one major piece remains: the new street lights!

After months of water mains, storm sewer, dirt, concrete, rain delays, curbs, sidewalks, grading, and a whole lot of patience... THE END IS NEAR! 🏁

Trick-or-Treat will be held on Saturday, October 31, from 1:00–2:30 p.m.

🌧️ In the event of rain, the rain date will be Sunday, November 1, from 1:00–2:30 p.m.

🚧 South Street Project Update 🚧

We are getting close!

Concrete work on South Street is nearly finished, with only one more pour remaining. Next week, crews are expected to finish the remaining concrete work, begin grading yards behind the new sidewalks, and start final grading of the road in preparation for asphalt the following week.

The continued rain has slowed things down a bit, but the project is definitely in the home stretch. The curbs, sidewalks, and approaches are really starting to bring the street back together, and the finish line is in sight!

Thank you again to South Street residents and everyone traveling through the area for your continued patience and cooperation as we work through these final stages of the project.

🚧 South Street Project Update 🚧

The finish line is starting to come into view on the South Street Reconstruction Project!

Concrete curbs have now been installed, and sidewalk and driveway approach work is underway. This is an exciting step, as the project is really beginning to look like a finished street again.

We expect the remaining concrete work to take a couple of weeks before crews move on to preparing the road for asphalt. As always, the schedule may shift some depending on weather and construction conditions, but great progress is being made.

Thank you again to South Street residents and everyone traveling through the area for your continued patience and cooperation. We know construction can be inconvenient, but these improvements will make a big difference for the long-term future of South Street!

⚾ Another improvement is taking shape at Cole Field Park!

The new backstop wall is officially complete, and we’re especially excited about the “COLE FIELD” imprint built into the wall. It’s a small detail that helps us continue honoring the Cole family and the history of this longtime community field.
This is just one part of our larger effort to beautify and improve Cole Field Park.

🏗️ Up next: a brand-new grandstand! Our Public Works crew will be getting started on that phase soon, and we’re looking forward to seeing the improvements continue to come together.
