When a critical case rolls through the door, it takes a whole squad to make magic happen. Our EMS crews, providers, and nurses usually soak up the spotlight (and they've earned it), but today we're pulling back the curtain on a true behind-the-scenes MVP.

Meet Karly, SMP Health - St. Andrew's inpatient pharmacist. When the pressure's on, Karly is right there in the thick of it, calculating and prepping meds on the fly so the rest of the team can stay laser focused on the patient. That kind of teamwork shaves off precious seconds when seconds are everything.

Karly, you absolutely rock! Bottineau Ambulance Service District appreciates and values the collaboration with all of our partners in the ER! Karly is just one more peace of the "team work makes the dream work" puzzle!

One of our most frequently asked questions is...do I live in your ambulance district?

Unfortunately there's no easy one stop tool to tell you all of that information, so we built one! This app pulls the current data from the State of ND's GIS hub along with parcel records to tell you what emergency services cover you - including whether you're in our ambulance district.

Yesterday we wrapped up our first group of Junior EMT Camp kiddos, K-2 grade! These little future first responders spent two days learning hands-on safety and first aid skills, including:

- A walkthrough of what happens at the ER SMP Health - St. Andrew's
- Hydration and safety during sports
- School bus safety
- Hands-only CPR practice on training dummies
- Learning about the digestive system
- First aid practice
- Concussion recognition

It was so fun to watch these kids! Stay tuned for our next Junior EMT Camp group!

This Saturday, two of our own, Rikki Kortgaard and Timothy Swanson, provided ambulance and medical standby at the Prairie Grits Water Sports Day at Lake Metigoshe.

The Prairie Grits initiative provides sport and recreation opportunities for youth and adults living with physical and/or mental disabilities. We're grateful for the chance to support such a meaningful event, and thank Prairie Grits for including Bottineau Ambulance Service District! 🚑❤️
