🚨 NOW HIRING: POLICE RECRUITS 🚨

Remember these faces?

A few months ago, they were the newest at BCPD. Fast forward to today, and they're at (or very close to) completing our Field Training Program and becoming solo officers.

That's the real milestone!

Sure...getting the keys to a take-home patrol car is pretty awesome too. We won't pretend it isn't. 😉

Now we're looking for the next group.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Boulder City Pkwy is fully open at 2:40 pm

BCPD and BCFD personnel are currently working a vehicle fire on Boulder City Pkwy southbound approximately 1/2 mile north of Veterans Memorial Dr.

Traffic has been reduced to the right shoulder until crews can clear the scene. Please slow down and remain alert for the safety of all our responders.

7:15 p.m.: Takeoff from Nellis Air Force Base
7:20-7:22 p.m.: Las Vegas Strip North to South Pass
7:23-7:25 p.m.: Las Vegas Strip South to North Pass
7:26 p.m.: North Las Vegas VA Medical Center
7:29 p.m.: Lone Mountain
7:30 p.m.: Las Vegas Ballpark
7:32 p.m.: Red Rock Canyon
7:34 p.m.: Mt Charleston
7:47 p.m.: Hoover Dam
7:48 p.m.: Boulder City
8:00 p.m.: Land at Nellis Air Force Base

POWER OUTAGE

***UPDATE***
Power service has been restored as of 08:15 AM

A known power outage has been reported in neighborhoods southeast of Adams Blvd and Buchanan Blvd. Public Works utility crews have been dispatched to identify and fix the issue. There is no need to call the BCPD non-emergency dispatch number at this time, as the staff in the dispatch center also needs to respond to emergency calls. We appreciate your patience as the city works hard to restore power in the area.

Please see the news release regarding a death investigation by Boulder City Police. Investigators say this is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Scam alert! In this text, note that the violation is for "Failure to Pay Electronic Toll/Toll Evasion"- there are no toll roads in Clark County. The "Immediate Action Required" asks for full payment or appear in court Tuesday. Some people might use the QR code to pay fines, not knowing the funds are going to a scammer. Courts have even turned people away who thought they had an appearance
scheduled. If you are in doubt, call the court of record.

Our lateral police officer eligibility list is open for all currently employed sworn peace officers (both in-state and out!) with 2 years of employment at a full-service agency (not including academy time)! Some of the perks of the job here include:

NATIONAL ANIMAL CONTROL WEEK

As we highlight the different parts of our department, we want to share that this week is also National Animal Control week! Our hard-working Animal Control officers work throughout the week to educate, respond to complaints, rescue all types of animals, and manage a no-kill animal shelter that finds homes for an endless number of animals. We appreciate their efforts to keep Boulder City the great city it has been and will always be!
