Attention Snow Lovers! Winter is on its way and senior neighbors in Boulder County really need your help with snow shoveling! We match volunteers with clients in their area so no one is traveling far in bad weather. And we even have snow blowers for any volunteer that takes 3 or more clients! Perhaps there are even a few snow removal companies that could donate time and effort. Our highest needs are in Central and East Longmont, North and Central Boulder, and Louisville. Fall Prevention Awareness Month is observed in September 2026, with the national focal point—Falls Prevention Awareness Week—taking place from September 21 to 25, 2026. The nationwide observance aims to reduce fall risks and educate older adults on maintaining balance and independence. The Boulder County Area Agency on Aging is offering a wide variety of programs available to seniors in Boulder County. Longmont's biggest block party is today and Cultivate is excited to be a part of it! Free, family-friendly, and full of surprises. 4-8 PM at 4th and Kimbark. Everyone is welcome!

Unity in the Community is Longmont's free summer street festival, and one of the most fun Friday evenings you will have all year! Produced by the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce and presented by High Plains Bank, Unity fills the streets of Downtown Longmont with more than 100 local businesses and non-profits, each bringing their own personality, creativity, and community spirit to the block.

Come for the roller skating, the dunk tank, the photo booth, the arcade, and the live music. Stay because you wandered into something you did not expect: a business that made you laugh, a non-profit that made you think, a neighbor you had never met. That is what Unity does! It turns a Friday afternoon into a genuinely great time and reminds you why Longmont is worth showing up for.

Live music from 6:30-8 pm by Last Men on Earth, one of Northern Colorado's most beloved variety rock bands. Expect hits from Journey, Toto, Foreigner, Van Halen, The Commodores, Bryan Adams, and everything in between. Just when you think you know where they are going, they will play something you forgot you loved!

Admission is free, entertainment is free, and everyone is welcome! When: Friday, August 28, 4-8 PM. Where: At the intersection of 4th Ave. and Kimbark St. in Downtown Longmont.

It's National Dog Day, a day during which we're all supposed to acknowledge and spoil our dogs. Hmmm, we don't think the Cultivate Canine Crew could be any more spoiled than they already are but we'll sure give it a try!
