Mindful Works Mindful Works is a trusted community partner. Opportunities range from sewing – to computers – to sales – and just about everything in between.

We are a nonprofit social enterprise dedicated to working with individuals living with mental health challenges by creating job training and career opportunities. As Mindful Works strives to eliminate obstacles to employment for those in recovery from mental health challenges, we have achieved a strong community partnership with the Division of Rehabilitation and community mental health providers.

Mindful Works offers transitional employment—a real job and a real salary—to program participants as they train and prepare for the time when they will begin their search for employment in the community. Participants cultivate a work ethic as they hone job-related skills such as:

Time management (including attendance and punctuality)
- Attention to detail
- Teamwork
- Project planning and implementation
- Practicing interpersonal skills

Training and experiences vary based on each participant’s skill and ability level, and their interests. This transitional work experience translates to a positive line on a resume, a positive work reference, and a boost in self-esteem. Mindful Works paves the path for rewarding employment in the community.

Another wonderful weekend at the Highlands Art Festival! ☀️

We loved spending time with the community, sharing the story behind Mindful Works, and showcasing handmade products created by our talented apprentices.

From our colorful poufs and meditation cushions to our newest Japanese knot bags, it was a joy to connect with so many people who value handcrafted goods with purpose.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, asked questions, shopped local, and supported our mission.
