We realize that you may be concerned about what the recent election will mean for you and/or your family, neighbors, and friends. At this point, it is impossible to know what Trump will actually do about immigration and civil rights, since he said many different things during the course of the campaign. Below is information about 3 meetings that will be held locally in the next few weeks to provide information and we hope some reassurance.
The BoCo Dems Outreach and Inclusion Team will be backing the efforts of our local elected officials and other groups to provide every possible protection for all residents of our community.

COMMUNITY MEETING, PROTECTION OF EVERYONE UNDER COLORADO LAW
Longmont Museum
Led by Stan Garnet, District Attorney, who writes: Many of us in the law enforcement community, and in other Boulder County Agencies, have had residents contact us about fear of deportation, hate crimes, harassment, health care accessibility and other issues due to the tenor of recent political debate in the United States. This office’s Immigrant Protection Initiative (part of our Community protection Division) first established in 2011, assures the protection under Colorado law of everyone in Boulder County, regardless of language spoken, immigration status, ethnic heritage, religious belief, LGBTQ identification or any other personal characteristic. Every human being in our county is protected by Colorado law. Over the last several years we have handled many cases, some through jury trial, as part of this Initiative.
To remind everyone of the commitment of my office to these issues and to answer questions and explain procedures for reporting a crime, we will be hosting on November 16, from 6-7:30, a Community Meeting at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road, Longmont 80501.
The meeting will be in both English and Spanish and representatives from other Boulder County Agencies will be present to underscore Boulder County’s commitment to fair treatment of everyone.
Tues., November 29, 5:30-7:00 pm, DIAGONAL COURT, 3265 30th St., Boulder (and other meetings later, in different places)
