SPAN is a human rights organization committed to ending violence against adults, youth, and children through support, advocacy, education and community organizing. SPAN began providing services in 1979 and is crucial to the network of support that offers critical “safety net” services to vulnerable, low-income and at-risk populations. It is the only organization serving Boulder, western Broomfield

, smaller towns and unincorporated Boulder County designed to provide shelter and advocacy for victims of interpersonal violence at a time when our community is experiencing higher domestic violence rates than national and state averages.

🌈 Today marks the beginning of Pride Month! 🌈

Community leaders and elected officials came together in Boulder today to recognize and celebrate our LGBTQ+ community, including Aaron Brockett, Boulder Mayor ; Boulder DA's Office, 20th Judicial District - DA Michael Dougherty; Rocky Mountain Equality Executive Director Marty Moore; Boulder Chamber's Director of Policy Programs Jonathan Singer, and several Boulder City Council members.

SPAN was in attendance to show our support for the LGBTQ+ community and our shared commitment to fostering a community where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. We celebrate the contributions, resilience, and diversity of our LGBTQ+ community this month and throughout the year.

Happy Pride Month! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

🌈 SPAN was proud to be part of Night of Noise! 💜

We connected with LGBTQIA+ youth, shared resources from SPAN and Peers Building Justice (PBJ), and celebrated the power of community and collective voice. Thank you Rocky Mountain Equality for organizing!

Night of Noise follows the Day of NO Silence — a movement uplifting LGBTQ+ youth and honoring those impacted by bullying, harassment, and anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. Together, we remind each other: no one fights alone.

✨ PBJ (Peers Building Justice) is a youth-led group for Boulder & Broomfield County youth ages 13–18 focused on leadership, community change, and connection.

📍 Join PBJ on Tuesdays in North Boulder

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

As we reflect on the meaning of freedom and safety, we must also acknowledge the unseen battles many individuals face in their own homes. Domestic violence continues to impact families and communities every day.

At SPAN, we stand with survivors and remember those whose lives were lost to domestic violence. Creating safer communities begins with awareness, support, and action. 💜

Please note that SPAN’s Outreach Center will be closed for Memorial Day. However, our 24/7 Crisis Hotline remains available for anyone in need of support:

A new study found the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline may have helped prevent nearly 4,400 suicides among young people since 2022 — proof that crisis support saves lives.

The same is true for survivors of domestic violence. In moments of fear, isolation, or crisis, having someone to call can make all the difference.

Help keep 24/7 hotlines available by supporting organizations that provide crisis response and survivor advocacy. Every donation helps ensure someone is there to answer the next call.
