As the Fire Chief, I want to address the serious issues of misinformation, misuse of power, and unlawful use of public funds that have been circulating. I stand firmly behind every firefighter with BFPD, trusting each one to have my family's back and knowing they will always support their brothers and sisters. We are better than the petty squabbles and bullying behavior that have been directed our way. It's essential to recognize that physical appearance doesn't define one's health or fitness level - body type and composition vary greatly. Let's draw inspiration from athletes who excel in their fields. Unfortunately, some individuals are being swayed by external influences and failing to take personal responsibility. True intelligence is not just about knowledge, but also about empathy, compassion, and common decency towards others.

Crawford county R-1 school invited us to bring some summer fun to their students who attended summer school, and we jumped at the chance to make their water day unforgettable. We're always eager to support our local school and create lasting memories for their students.

This past Tuesday evening, our personnel underwent training on proper procedures for donning their gear, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Multiple methods exist for donning personal protective equipment, and personnel became comfortable with the method that best suited their individual needs. Continued training enhances task efficiency, speed, and proficiency, ultimately rendering it second nature.
