Public Service Announcement: Zero-Tolerance for Mini-Bikes and Go-Carts

Mini-bikes and Go-Carts of any kind are not allowed to be ridden within the city limits of Bourbon. This includes public streets, sidewalks, parking lots, Hwy C, Hwy N , Hwy J, Old 66.

If you are caught riding one by the Bourbon Police Department, you will be stopped, and it will be towed. If you are over the age of 18 and operating one without a valid license, you may even be arrested.

These notices claim to be from the State of Missouri and threaten legal action over alleged unpaid traffic violations, tolls, or fines. They often include urgent language, court dates, and QR codes for payment.

⚠️ THIS IS A SCAM.

Missouri courts DO NOT:
• Send threatening notices like this demanding immediate payment
• Require payment through QR codes or unofficial links
• Threaten license suspension or arrest without proper legal service

✅ What to do if you receive one:
• DO NOT scan the QR code
• DO NOT send money or provide personal information
• Verify any court matter directly with your local court or clerk’s office

These scams are designed to create panic and pressure you into paying quickly. Take a moment, verify, and protect yourself.
