MARSHALL COUNTY TO BEGIN REGULAR TESTING OF OUTDOOR WARNING SIRENS:

Marshall County will conduct weekly testing on its outdoor warning siren system beginning on Tuesday, June 2nd.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Dispatch Center will automatically activate its sirens every Tuesday at 11 AM for 30 seconds.

Dispatch controls sirens for Bourbon, Center, and Union Townships. These are the sirens that will be activated during the weekly tests. Other sirens across the county are controlled by their respective fire departments and have their own testing procedures.

If severe weather is forecasted on the day of a test, or if it is actively raining at 11 AM, the test will be cancelled to avoid “false alarms”. If a test is cancelled, a post will be made on this page notifying the public.

The Bourbon Fire Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to John Grolich for pursuing this Public Safety Grant, along with the Marshall County Commissioners for approving the grant, and the Bourbon Town Board and Bourbon Township Trustee for their support in helping make this project possible.
With the grant funding, along with a little additional department funding, we were able to upgrade our outdated compressor system and move from a single bottle fill station to a double fill station equipped with modern safety features. This new system helps ensure the air our firefighters breathe during emergencies is clean, safe, and reliable.
Your support and commitment to public safety are greatly appreciated. This grant has helped our department tremendously, and we thank you all for investing in the safety of our firefighters and community.
