Good evening BIS Families,
I wanted to share some very important information regarding a very important person in our lives.
On August 16th, I’ll be running the Falmouth Road Race for someone who redefines what it means to be a hero.
Larry Kelsch is a beloved PE teacher at Bourne Intermediate School. More importantly, he is a constant source of strength, positivity, and inspiration. As the building principal, I am in awe of his love for our students and his relentless fight each and every day.
While courage is something we often talk about in schools, Larry lives it. He is currently battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer, yet continues to show up for our students whenever he is physically able—bringing energy, encouragement, and a sense of normalcy that means more than words can express.
At BIS, our students are learning a powerful lesson: heroes don’t always wear capes. Sometimes, they wear sneakers, stand in a gym, and choose to keep going even on the hardest days.
Every mile I run is in honor of Larry—his resilience, his dedication, and his unwavering commitment to our school community. I’m asking you to join me in supporting him during this fight. Your donation, no matter the amount, is a way to stand beside a true hero and give back to someone who has given so much to others.
Together, we can turn miles into meaningful support for Larry and his family.
