Hello everyone! The high school is moving forward with the Hall of Honors project, an outdoor space that will celebrate academic and athletic excellence by Mt. Ararat students. As part of the final fundraising stage, they are selling 4x8 tiles which will form parts of the walls. These tiles can be personalized upon purchase

For those of you interested and able to support this project, you can find more information here:

Thank you very much!

As we enter the final stages of the fundraising campaign, we are pleased to share that we have completed fundraising to purchase the baseball scoreboard, baseball dugouts, basketball roster sign, and improvements to the softball field. We still have several opportunities that we could use support

The Times Record has a nice feature on the three new MSAD-75 Board members — Amy Spelke, Mike Timberlake, and myself.

(And if you already looked, it has since been updated with my comments — as well as corrected vote totals.)

Amy Spelke and Michael Timberlake won seats representing Topsham on the Maine School Administrative District 75 board; Samuel Hutson Hayward will represent Bowdoinham.

I always knew this would be the last sign I took down.

Now we move on to work of serving on the school board, but before that, one last, important THANK YOU to all of the folks who supported my candidacy. Those of you who helped me mail letters, painted or hosted signs, discussed issues with me or brought up concerns, each and every one of you played a very real part in this victory. The support you gave, direct and indirect, means the *world* to me, and I will remain forever grateful for it.

This was my view of the moonrise over the bay as I was out picking up signs this morning. These pre-dawn hours are well-suited for some reflection.

I feel incredibly honored to have been chosen by Bowdoinham to represent our wonderful town on the school board. I am very excited to join Amy Spelke and Mike Timberlake as the new "freshman class" joining the other members as we all work to make MSAD-75 be the best school district it can be.

Once again, I want to thank Rachelle Tome for her service to the board these past three years. I also want to thank Dorothy Gardner and Jim Burak for their service representing Topsham, as well as Josh Lohr, who ran in Bowdoinham and was willing to do the work to support the school district.

Tough Monday as an MSAD-75 parent, getting four separate positive Covid-19 case emails from the superintendent. This is all the more reason to appreciate the action the School Board took last week when they voted to continue universal masking. Our family was lucky to not have our children tagged as close contacts this time, but for those that were, I hope everyone stays healthy and safe.

10/21/2021

Today is a big day for the school board, with universal masking on the agenda for tonight's meeting. For reasons detailed below, I think universal masking is the best tool we currently have to keep our kids in safe, in-person school.

I encourage those of you with students in the district to attend in person, if possible, and if not, to contact the school board with your respectful and courteous comments. 6:30 pm, at Mt. Ararat High School, in the Forum.

We have proof of the good that universal masking is doing right now, and it doesn't make sense to reverse this policy and needlessly give up school days to futures quarantines.
