As an upper level disturbance moves over the area today and tonight, it should result in isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms over North Central Texas. Rain chances have been increased to 30 to 40 percent for the afternoon hours with the highest chances along and west of Interstate 35. In the red shaded area, or along and west of Interstate 35, atmospheric conditions are more favorable for thunderstorms to become severe. Confidence is still low that the storms will be able to reach severe limits, but the potential is highest in the highlighted area. The primary severe weather threats today are damaging winds and large hail but an isolated tornado threat cannot be ruled out. www.srh.noaa.gov/fwd
