Friends of the Bowie Library

Friends of the Bowie Library The Friends of the Bowie Library supports library programs at the library through donated books and donated funds.

The Friends of the Bowie Library is a group of volunteers, who are committed to fostering a love of reading and learning by supporting library programs and services that benefit all residents in the area served by the Bowie Branch Library in Prince George’s County, Maryland. We raise money through an ongoing book sale and use the funds to pay for supplies and library programs that aren’t funded by

the library system, and for occasional gifts for the branch staff. Last year some of the thing the Friends supported included:
- Purchased chess boards to support a new Chess Club
- Paint n’ Sip Program
- Video equipment and games for Teen Zone
- Holiday thank you surprise for library staff
- Love Your Library program
- Awards for Hackathon
- Great Decisions adult discussion program
- STEM programs
- Supplies for eclipse party

Happy Friday everyone! Just a reminder to hurry out to the Bowie Branch Library today and Saturday because the doors will be locked on Sunday and Monday to allow our staff to enjoy the Memorial Day Weekend.

Remember to stop in at the Friends Bookstore and buy a great book, DVD or CD that you can keep forever for a dollar. Many super bargains to be seen.
