Warren County Fire Department System – Community Update

We’re proud to share progress and a look at what’s ahead as we continue serving our community:

Facility & Equipment Improvements
• Roof replacements completed at Hadley and Gott Station 1
• Roof replacements scheduled this month at Barren River Station 1 and Woodburn Station 1
• Two new brush trucks arriving in July (assigned to Hadley and Gott)
• Four new 1,000-gallon engines on order to be assigned at Richardsville, Alvaton, and Browning (anticipated delivery: December 2026)

Three 3000-gallon tankers were purchased in mid-2025 and are stationed at Plano, Richardsville, and Gott which have proven their effectiveness in the short time we have had them.

➡️ Looking ahead: exterior metal and roof replacement at Smiths Grove Station 1, roof replacement at Alvaton Station 3, roof replacement at Browning 1, and additional infrastructure upgrades across the county currently being identified

Training & Professional Development
We have several high-impact training opportunities on the horizon:

• Two-day Rural Water Supply Course (outside training firm with regional vendor support)
• Truck Company Operations Course (outside training firm)
• Rail Emergency Response Training with a federal partner
• Two-day Thermal Imaging Training Event this fall with a nationally recognized expert
• Additional training in development, including an Emergency Management–coordinated Water Rescue Course

Personnel & Staffing
• Actively recruiting volunteer firefighters to strengthen all nine volunteer departments across Warren County
• Maintaining compensated staffing ranging from 4–7 stations Monday–Friday (7:30 AM–5:30 PM) with full-time and part-time personnel based on staffing availability. Staffing at strategically staffed stations positioned to support efficient response times
• Launching our next Volunteer Recruit Academy this fall following the recent graduation of 18 firefighters

Partnerships & Community Safety
• Partnered with the American Red Cross to provide post-incident smoke detector installations
• Continued collaboration with:
Bowling Green Fire Department
Warren County Emergency Management
Neighboring county fire departments
Medical Center EMS
Local law enforcement agencies

These partnerships strengthen communication, coordination, and service delivery for our citizens.

Moving Forward
There are many great things happening across the system but none of it would be possible without the dedicated people from every department and agency working together to move us forward.

Thank you for your continued support of the Warren County Fire Department System.

Accidents can happen in seconds, but a helmet can significantly reduce the risk of serious head injuries. It’s one of the simplest steps you can take to protect yourself and your loved ones.

✔ Always wear a properly fitted helmet
✔ Make sure it’s secured before you ride
✔ Replace helmets after any impact

📊 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿:
Wearing a helmet can reduce the risk of head injury by up to 60% and the risk of serious brain injury by even more. That’s a simple step that makes a big difference.

At Gott Fire Department, your safety is our priority. Make the smart choice every time you ride - helmet on, head protected.

Working smoke alarms cut the risk of dying in a house fire in half, yet many homes still have missing or non-working alarms. Take a few minutes this month to test each alarm, replace batteries if needed, and make sure every level of your home is protected.

At Gott Fire Department, we’re here to serve, but your safety starts at home.

Test today. Protect tomorrow.

Spring brings warmer weather, outdoor burning, grilling, and yard cleanups - all of which increase fire risks if we’re not careful. Take a few minutes this month to clear brush and debris, practice safe burning habits and grill with care.

At Gott Fire Department, your safety is our priority, but prevention starts with all of us. Stay alert. Stay prepared. Stay safe. www.gottfire.org
